Soft Gradients Are Not Continuous Thread Color
Digital artwork can blend one color smoothly into another across thousands of pixel values. Embroidery normally uses separate thread colors and stitch patterns.
A digitizer can suggest shading with stitch direction, spacing or multiple colors, but it will not behave exactly like a screen gradient.
Shadows and Transparency Need Interpretation
Transparent glow, soft drop shadows and partially visible objects depend on pixels showing the artwork underneath. Thread is opaque enough that these effects must be translated into deliberate stitch areas.
Sometimes the best embroidery version removes a shadow entirely.
Tiny Texture Can Turn Into Noise
AI images may include skin texture, fur, sparks, grain, distressed edges or hundreds of tiny decorative marks. At logo size, many of these elements are smaller than practical embroidery detail.
Keeping every mark can increase stitch count without making the design more recognizable.
Fine Lines Have a Minimum Physical Width
A digital line can be one pixel wide. Embroidery requires enough room for the chosen thread and stitch construction.
Very fine strokes may need to become wider satin areas, run stitches or be removed depending on the design and garment.
Small Size Magnifies Every Limitation
A detailed AI illustration may be possible as a large jacket back but unsuitable at three or four inches wide. The same artwork should be reviewed separately for each application.
