File Formats & Compatibility

Do you support Melco OFM?

Yes. Native OFM for Melco DesignShop, plus DST, PES, EXP, EMB, JEF, and more on request.

Can I get both OFM and EMB?

We include one editable native format per design. Need both? Ask and we can quote an add-on export.

Can you convert OFM to DST?

Yes. We retune density, underlay, and pull-comp so the DST sews clean on your fabric and hoop size.

Which machines are supported?

Melco, Tajima, Barudan, Brother, Ricoma, ZSK and others via the appropriate file format.

Do you handle 3D Puff correctly?

Absolutely. We plan capping, underlay, densities, and sequencing specifically for puff.

What’s the difference between DST and EMB files?

DST is a machine stitch format used by Tajima and many machines. EMB is a Wilcom editable file that stores full stitch data, underlay, and sequencing information.

Do I need EMB or OFM to edit my file later?

Yes. Wilcom EMB and Melco OFM files retain design objects, allowing re-editing of density, underlay, and colors. DST and PES are stitch-only and not ideal for modifications.

Can you open PES, JEF, or EXP files?

Yes. We can import most common stitch formats and rework them for cleaner results or format conversion.

Can I convert vector art directly to embroidery?

Yes. We specialize in vector to stitch conversion. Clean vectors (AI, PDF, SVG) yield the smoothest stitch paths and least distortion.

Will my file work on a Brother or Ricoma machine?

Yes. We provide compatible files such as PES, DST, or EXP depending on your machine type.

Quality & Technical

How do you ensure clean sew-outs?

Manual pathing, correct underlay, density tuning, push/pull compensation, and trim minimization.

Do you test sew?

We design to production standards. If you share fabric/hoop constraints, we tune for those conditions.

Can you match thread charts?

We can note Madeira/Isacord references and plan densities accordingly; exact shades depend on your threads.

Large jacket backs?

Yes. We optimize sections, travel paths, and underlay so finishes remain stable at scale.

Small text on caps?

We adjust columns, pull-comp, and underlay to maintain legibility at small sizes.

How do you handle small lettering?

We increase pull-compensation, use center-run underlay, and optimize stitch angles to maintain clean text under 0.25".

What underlay types do you use?

We use edge run, zig-zag, and tatami underlays depending on fabric and design style.

How do you manage push and pull distortion?

We calculate pull-comp offsets based on fabric type and direction of stitch flow.

What density do you use?

Standard density is 0.40mm–0.45mm, but we adjust per fabric and thread type for ideal coverage.

Do you provide machine color charts?

Yes. We can label threads with Madeira, Isacord, or Robison Anton charts upon request.

Do you digitize for puff and flat in one file?

Yes. We can include both puff and flat stitch sequences within one file, labeled clearly for production.

Can you fix bad digitized files?

Absolutely. We often redigitize poorly performing files to improve pathing, density, and stitch order.
