EMB can retain editable design objects and embroidery properties when the artwork is created as an EMB design.

EMB Files Compared with Stitch Only Formats

A machine format such as DST mainly describes stitches, machine movement, trims, color changes, and related production commands. An EMB design can contain higher level design information when it is built as an editable Wilcom design.

Saving or importing a stitch only file into embroidery software does not necessarily recreate the original object structure. If editable EMB data matters to your workflow, request the native design format when you place the order.
