What Professional Digitizing Involves

A digitizer controls how the design is constructed and how the machine moves through it. That includes decisions about stitch type, underlay, density, pull compensation, sequencing, stitch direction, travel paths, trims, and color order.

These decisions change with the design. A structured cap has different production concerns than a left chest logo. Small lettering has different limits than a large jacket back. 3D puff needs a different construction approach than flat embroidery.

Software and File Workflows

Naan Designs works with Melco DesignShop and Wilcom EmbroideryStudio workflows. Melco OFM is a primary editable format for our Melco work, while Wilcom EMB is available when a customer needs an editable Wilcom format.

Machine formats such as DST, PES, and EXP are also available based on the production workflow. The file format does not create good digitizing by itself. The stitch construction inside the file is what matters.
